I have been experiencing ryokans in Japan for many years and Takefue is the best all around in my opinion. It’s nestled in a beautiful bamboo forest with access to rooms and baths by way of winding covered wooden walkways. Our room was …
I told my husband I was so sad to be leaving (a sign of an excellent stay) and he told me we should not be sad to be leaving, but grateful to have had the chance to stay here. He is absolutely correct.
Uto, our assigned butler (?), went above and beyond to make sure our stay was comfortable. The level of thought and care that is put into the elaborate meals, the relaxing onsen experiences, and the property itself is extraordinary. The unique setting makes it extra magical - carved into the mountainous terrain among the bamboo trees!
A special thank you to our masterful therapist, Iku at Zen Spa. She studied medical massage therapy in Australia and it does not go unnoticed. Trust her with your aching muscles and trust the onsen to heal you in every other way!! What an incredible combination.
While every meal from breakfast to dinner was beyond our imagination, we really enjoyed our sukiyaki dinner. :) Highly recommend giving it a go! We will be back.
The room, the meals, and the service were all brimming with hospitality, making it a highly satisfying and wonderful journey. If given the chance, I would definitely love to visit again.|I highly recommend for those looking for hidden gem in Japan. I want to come back again for my future visit to Japan.
Very special and private place to enjoy the real Japanese style ryokan.
The room had both indoor and outdoor bath, additionally we were able to use two different types of public baths privately via booking.
Food was amazing and they also had a Japanese flute concert at night, which was incredible👍
The best ryokan ever:)
All of staff are helpful and friendly!
Special thanks to Kenji for helping us to have a good time in Takefue 🙏
Definitely want to visit again!
From the moment I stepped into Takefue, I knew I was about to experience something extraordinary
It is by far the best place I have ever had the pleasure to stay in. The accommodations at Takefue go above and beyond when it comes to comfort, coziness, relaxation, and traditional Japanese hospitality.
The room is very spacious. |You can feel quaint, beautiful Japanese atmosphere.||The open-air bath in my room was large. We can spend relaxing time with beautiful green and natural sound. The spring quality is very good.||Food is Japanese …
Love everything about Takefue , this latest trip to Takefue in sep 2023 is probably I think my fourth stay here. I love everything from the calming bamboo forest, to the amazing rooms with their own private onsen (I used to stay at Omachian , but most recently Shienan and this is my new fav room!) the whole customer journey as you enter Takefue to the guest room is just wonderful, from the ice cream freezer near the lobby, to soda water in cool onsen waters, to sounds of water streaming, wood fire burning, and the cute ducks in the garden which their dining room Takezono overlooks. Make sure to stay 2 nights so you can also enjoy lunch at the dining room in addition to the kaiseki meals for breakfast and dinner. We had sukiyaki kaiseki for our 2nd night just to give a bit of variety. Thanks again to our lovely concierge Asami san for taking care of us during our 2 nights here.
Be contented to just eat and soak and repeat , it’s still to me the best onsen ryokan I have been to so far in Japan.
There are so many charming Ryokans to choose from in Japan and after much research, my heart was set on Takefue due to the fact the property was surrounded by a beautiful bamboo forest. I had high expectations as this was one of the more …
